WoW Policy Questions
I am thinking about becoming a WoW player. I have the following questions. I have submitted the communication form on the official WoW site with these questions, but recieved a generic reply saying 'the player's account penalties cannot be discussed with other people'. So basically, they didn't even read the submission, not even the first sentence; that or it was someone with English as a 3rd or 4th language. So, if anybody could shed some light on any of these questions I would be eternally greatful. This is just stuff that I feel was not covered in the policies.
Does any of the following go against, in any way, any of the rules or Terms of Use in World of Warcraft and can any of the following result in any action against a player's account, including warnings and suspensions?
Using the Logitech keyboard software, like the Logitech G-Series Keyboard Profiler, on the computer running the game but not in any way that affects the game.
Using the Logitech SetPoint software for Logitech mice on the computer running the game, but not in any way that affects the game (besides speed of human controlled of cursor movement).
Using the Logitech LCD software to display non-game related information, such as cpu/memory usage and voice chat information from TeamSpeak.
Using a firewall that might allow one to see the unmodified contents of any and all packets that are incoming or outgoing from the computer running the game.
Using a mod, made using only the game's UI scripting, that allows, for instance, a player to initiate a trade with said mod user and the mod automatically places some specific item in the trade window and accepts the trade. (note for this post: if anybody happens to know of such a mod that isn't out dated, please let me know)
Using a name of, or derived from, ancient cultures such as Greek or Egyptian deities.
Pricing an item on the auction house substantially higher than the average for the economy.
Buying all of one item type out of the auction house, then placing the item(s) back for a higher price, resulting in a potential profit.
Any references to human anatomy or bodily functions; in any way or by using any variation of of those related words. For example as expressed in this comic, http://www.blizzard.com/wow/screensh...dex=184&Set=64, and as expressed by Johnzen in this forum post, http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...68510729&sid=1.

eh, well the links aren't malicious.. they're on the wow forums and blizzard pages. no, you don't have to have an account to /read/ the forums... however you have to have an active account to post there.
Well I'm just not sure about some of it. I've been reading a lot.. I mean A LOT of information about WoW over the past 4 days.. my eyes really hurt and burn..

I can't see why any of the things you listed would be a problem, as long as you didn't use software that controlled mouse/keyboard movements while you were afk. If you're not sure on the rules, check here. Like ahhdamm, I'm surprised why you need to know this much before you even start playing the game. Call me suspicious, but it sounds like you have something particular in mind with some of those questions - just sounds a bit too specific for someone who's only thinking of becoming a WoW player. Have you had trouble with on-line games in the past?

Lol, yeah.. I've let a few noobs have it in other games before..
Edit: The whole Logitech thing stims from the news, it was even on Digg, that someone got banned for using a G15 keyboard. But, it never really said specifically what the issue was.
The firewall thing is from the WoW policy saying something about packet sniffing.
The whole no-botting thing seems pretty broad from what I've read, so that's where the mod question comes into play.
The rest is pretty much stemming from the WoW policy statement that says not to abuse the economy.

Buying low and selling high is not abusing the economy. Gold buying and selling is.
No botting has less to do with addons than it does with programs that farm for you. That's a no-no.
I don't know why anyone would get banned for a keyboard, so I would not take that too seriously unless you actually know the specifics. People get banned all the time for doing bad things, then say that they didn't do it, or that they got banned for something else so they don't look so bad.
Check out the UI Customization Forum here and you can see all the things you can do with addons. Everything you see here is legit in the eyes of Blizzard, so no worries.

It's happened... well perhaps. The documented one on this forum a year or so ago was somebody using (I think) a G15, who also happened to be running WoW under WINE, which I think blew the blizzard peoples' mind. The processes running were unfamiliar, so banned, although AFAIK there's nothing saying that you can't do this...
IIRC Blizzard have specifically said that the G15 is supported at some time or another. Doesn't mean that another part of the company won't ban you though - you have already had a taste of the sort of response that Customer Services ever seem to give anybody.

The person who got banned was using the keyboard's built-in macro feature to automate more than is allowed.
Simple rule is only use in-game features.

K.. I was sorta worried because I do run the Logitech software... I use the LCD to display Ventrilo and CPU/Memory usage statistics... The only 'macro' I have on the keyboard is the windows calculator.
