how does your guild get other people to DPS

How does your guild get other people to DPS better? We are currently running karazhan, and some people are not performing very well.

I just joined the guild a week ago, and we're now working on Netherspite/Prince.

Last few times I went with them, I noticed I was first, hovering around 630~ Dps as an UA warlock with 850~ shadow damage.

I look at recount, and the next person is a Felguard warlock dealing around 500 DPS, I look further down and there is another UA warlock, but he is only doing 350 dps, and a rogue with 300 dps?

Now I know that I had just joined a week ago, but it really sucks because I just rerolled on this server to play with friends.

How would you go to telling other people to not "suck" and do better without looking like an ass? I've told people that getting Health / Mana Potions and elixirs will help quite a bit, also reading up boss fights before as well.

Also, I am kind of low on gold right now, just been doing dailies and I had recently made my frozen shadoweave set, and levelled tailoring as well. Would herbalism be a good choice to get more gold? I only have a 60% flyer so I would not be able to fly around in an epic flyer and picking flowers.

I've talked to my guild leader and he says he's noticed it, but they're all nice people it's just I don't know what to tell them. When I think about it it sounds like i'll look like an ass either way, esp. since I just joined.

For example, one of our rogues has a dagger main hand, and a sword off hand, and he has both dagger and sword specialization, and just said that he will be getting the gladiator dagger main hand and keeping the gladiator sword off hand.

Another time, we cleared Opera and Trial-Fire Trouser's dropped. It was a nice upgrade for me, however the mage said he needed it, he already had Spellstrike Pants, with the 35 spell damage and 20 stam patch on it with gems as well.

And another time, for curator our hunter took the t4 gloves over another person, and has not worn it for any raids, saying that his Gladiator Gauntlets are superior.

Most of the people are really nice but they just don't seem to do enough dps, as was evident with us hitting the enrage on netherspite quite a few times.
